When we think about toy train sets the electric model railroads are brought to mind most of the time. You can find large models that offer a backyard setting or even miniature styles that can be setup on a desk. Experienced model railroad enthusiasts most often recommend the “O scale model trains.” They look about the same size as the trains that you see during the holidays going around the Christmas tree. Be especially cautious about the many small parts that are part of the toy train set, in fact some of these models are not even recommended for young children under 3 years of age, such as the popular Lionel Trains Polar Express. It is always best to always provide adult supervision and provide needed assistance with the instructions, which tend to be somewhat challenging. Patience and practice is required as controlling the train is going to take some time to master.
